Unforseen declaration from USDA ?

 

USDA flashes the green signal towards the gene edited tomato

that are said to be resistant to the common viruses, and these crops does not coming under the federal regulations as per the report of Capital Press.

The USDA examines the six lines of the tomato developed by the Nexagen company of Australia. The regulations mainly on the genetically engineered crops.But Nexagen altered the tomatoes with "particle bombardment"of gene sequences that 

allows plant to detect and destroy the tomato spotted wilt virus 

and other common viruses.

They said that they only use the native DNA of plant ,no foreign DNA incorporated by Philippe Herve , CEO of the company.

  There should be a gene responsible for the resistance against the pathogenic DNA  , if the plant develops a advancement in the resistance then the virus also modifies its system it will be 

like an endless battle between the virus and plants .

The natural progress will be time consuming , so Nexagen combines components of existing tomato DNA to target the newest strains of the  virus ,it will be accelerating the develpoment of resistance .The particles of gold coated with 

reconfigurated tomato DNA repeatedly blasted into the plant

cells .The six lines of virus resistant lines were created the tomato plants naturally integrated Nexagens template into the

genes against viruses.

These like experiments can be conduct field trials using agrobacterium but it will be under the federal regulations of the 

genetic engineering.

But in these case there is no foreign gene inserted to the parent genome it is only the native DNA . But now the arguments against the approval that "the small interfering RNAs that generated in these tomatoes may cause any off target effects 

that is it may affect other genes .The analysing is continues.....

But a happy thing that i gladly expressed here about the rise up of the unregulated genetic transformed plants or organisms will lead to the new thoughts and experiments that enriches the gentic level engineered crops. The science will ever rise from the shadow of the creed.
